Background and Training

Berkeley Plumbing holds a C-36 Plumbing Contractor license from the California State License Board (CSLB #1115151). The C-36 is the license classification required to perform full plumbing work on any residential or commercial construction project in California. It's not a handyman registration or a general contractor add-on: it's a plumbing-specific contractor credential.

Trade education was completed through PHCC (Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors), one of the longest-standing trade organizations in the industry. PHCC training covers system design, code interpretation, and the technical standards that separate journeyman-level work from basic service calls.

Specialization

Most of Berkeley Plumbing's work falls into three categories: new construction plumbing on custom homes and multi-unit builds, remodel plumbing for kitchen and bath renovations and whole-home repipes, and ADU plumbing from rough-in through final inspection.

This focus on construction and remodel work means the projects are more complex than a standard service call, and the customers tend to be more sophisticated: homeowners who have done renovations before, general contractors looking for a reliable sub, and design teams who need a plumber who reads plans and communicates clearly.
